A letter to our customers:

The economic climate has worsened to a catastrophic state.  Our leadership in Washington can’t decide on what to do to help our economy.  They Bail out their friends on Wall Street but forgot about us here on Main Street.  Detroit has been in a full blown depression for some time now.

As the owner of the Bread Basket Deli’s, I have decided to make a difference. With your help we can make a difference by taking control of our situation by buying and selling only Michigan based products, specifically-MADE IN DETROIT.

At the Bread Basket Deli’s, we cook our own corned beef (made and pickled for us by United Meat in Detroit).  Our pickles are made for us by Topor’s Pickle Company in Detroit. Our breads and rolls are made for us by Superior Bread Company and The Bake Station (Detroit based kosher bakery).  We sell only Better Made potato chips and our soda pop favorite is Faygo; both are a Detroit tradition.  All our cakes and pies are expertly prepared for you at our Detroit Bakery on Woodward Avenue.

We can’t change Washington, but together we can make a difference; As

Washington says; “Bye Detroit!”  We at Bread Basket say; “Buy Detroit!”
